We’re Building Something New: Come Join Us

The Pre-Sale Prep Community is a private space for business owners getting their companies ready for sale.

It’s still new, we’re growing toward 100 members, and for now it’s completely free to join.

If you want to learn how to make your business more valuable before you sell… this is where to start. Join below:

If you want to sell your business for profit, understanding your business better than anyone else is non-negotiable.

We (Four Pillars) add value by talking about things business owners might not see day to day, not to lecture, but to share experience.

First Step

Financial fluency. If you can’t explain your P&L, margins, revenue streams, and what drives results, you’re not truly in control. Don’t leave it all to the accountants. Especially if an exit is on the horizon.

The sale process. Understand deal structures, valuation vs. structure, working capital, and the quirks of legal terms. Know the dynamics… flexibility is often more powerful than stubbornness.

Recognize deal killers before they happen.

Finally

Know your buyers. SBA buyers and PE buyers are not the same. SBA buyers often value continuity, stability, and process. PE buyers may focus on cost-cutting, financial engineering, or growth.

Corporate cultures differ from entrepreneurial cultures. Understanding your buyer shapes negotiations, timelines, and expectations.

Preparation isn’t about being perfect, it’s about being ready. Know your numbers, know your processes, know your buyer.

That’s how you maximize control, reduce risk, and put yourself in a position to achieve a strong outcome.

📅 Next Week:

Next week, I’ll be diving into why the name on your diploma isn’t everything and my story about how I started college at Georgia Tech, transferred to Mizzou, and what that decision taught me about brand, fit, and real-world preparation.

The lessons I learned from that experience still shape how I think about business and hiring today.

Keep building,
